Technology assurance

The NCSC’s Technology Assurance activities provide a means to gain confidence in the cyber security of the services and technologies on which the UK relies. Technology Assurance also helps to facilitate the UK’s digital growth ambitions in a safe and secure way.

This is a new approach to Assurance, one which gives due consideration to context and risk, providing a security assessment which is appropriate to the context in which a system will be used. In practice, this will require an ecosystem of test facilities and expertise, which the NCSC will support and help to grow.

This white paper outlines how this assurance process will work and the steps the NCSC is taking to put it into practice.
