Social media policy

The NCSC's policy around its social media platforms.

Our accounts are managed by the NCSC Social Media Team.

We don’t use any automation (such as tools which generate posts from RSS feeds or link shortening) to post content on our social platforms. Link shortening can create accessibility issues and does not help a user understand what they are selecting or where they are being directed to. This is in line with the Government Digital Service principles

We use our feeds as an additional way of engaging with our intended audience, including individuals, government and Critical National Infrastructure (CNI). Decisions on the content of the posts, and the platform(s) on which they appear, are always taken based on the particular audience we are trying to reach.

We aim to post regularly about NCSC activities, so that those who follow us can be the first to learn our latest news.

Our posts may include alerts about:

  • new guidance publications
  • news stories
  • NCSC events

We may also re-post content from other organisations which we believe is relevant to our audience.
