Ultra’s Multi Link Encryptor (MLE) family of products provide security of data flowing across a LINK-11 (MIL-STD-188-203-1A) Tactical Data Link in a ½ ATR format. LINK-11 provides networked sensor information between platforms to improve situational awareness. The MLE encrypts data received from the Tactical Data System (TDS) Computer, encrypts it, and forwards it to the platform’s Data Terminal Set (DTS) modem and radio for outgoing transmission. It also decrypts encrypted data received from the DTS and forwards it to the TDS Computer.

The MLE is fully qualified for both airborne and maritime platforms (EMC, TEMPEST, Environmental and CE/UKCA) and is fully interoperable with legacy KG-40 and KG-40AR encryptors and is in service across NATO. With a range of mounting tray options, the MLE can be installed as a replacement for an existing KG-40/KG-40AR without cabling or mechanical mounting changes and using the same key material and fill devices. An optional Remote-Control Unit (RCU) provides for remote operation at distances up to 100m, facilitating simple integration to the helicopter cockpit or ship control centre.
