The Thales Vector, VRM5208 is a Mobile TETRA terminal and repeater that conforms to the ETSI standards and can operate in either Trunked Mode of Operation (TMO) or Direct Mode of Operation (DMO). Gateway functionality between the trunk network and a DMO net (including transparent end-to-end encryption where applicable) is provided by connecting two terminals in DTSI mode. The terminal may be used in covert and overt applications. It utilises the TETRA Encryption Algorithm 2 (TEA2) for encryption of the air-interface and additionally uses the UK National Algorithm for End-to-End encryption.
