As the national cyber skills landscape evolves, the transition from CyberFirst to TechFirst marks a new chapter in supporting the next generation of cyber talent.
The CyberFirst programme has now transitioned over to TechFirst under the leadership of DCMS. The NCSC will remain a critical pathway lead for Cyber within the TechFirst programme and our focus is shifting towards more focused support for Key Stage 5 students wishing to study cyber in further and higher education or take their first step into the cyber profession.
NCSC Cyber Skills Engagement: Supporting TechFirst
The NCSC is supporting the UK Government's TechFirst programme to help grow the nation's cyber security talent pipeline. We are working with employers to identify opportunities to support future cyber talent through fully funded placements, scholarships, educational resources, and broader engagement activities.
We are keen to hear from organisations interested in contributing to this evolving landscape, including those who would like to:

Provide an HMG-funded summer work placement through the TechGrad Scholarship scheme.

Support cyber skills development activities in schools and colleges.

Provide pre-recorded talks for students aligned to cyber security and TechFirst.

Stay up to date with news, opportunities, and engagement activities within the NCSC Cyber Skills community.
