2026 News
New Certified Degree Portal
At the beginning of 2026, NSCS embarked on an exciting impact project with CSE Connect and final year Computer Science and Cyber Security students from across the UK, to redesign the application process for NCSC degree certification.
The project was completed in July, and the new certified degree online tool is now live (August 2026) and currently open for a ‘closed’ postgraduate call.
The tool enables the applicant to input once, replicate information, track progress, and cross reference with far greater ease than before.
These improvements are significant, not only to applicants but to NCSC administrators, the assessors, and the Chair. It will take assessments through to the Panel meeting and make writing and sending out feedback slicker and quicker.

Goodbye CyberFirst – Welcome Cyber Skills team!
As of 1 September 2026, CyberFirst and the Academic Engagement Team will become the NCSC Cyber Skills team.
As we take forward our expanded remit for cyber skills, and through our leadership of the TechFirst Cyber Pathway, we look forward to deepening our engagement with our ACEs-CSE and HEIs in the years ahead.
Together, we can create even more opportunities for young people, strengthen the UK's cyber workforce, and help ensure that the nation remains secure and resilient in the digital age.
ACE-CSE brochure
We are working on updating our digital ACE-CSE brochure in 2026. We hope to re-launch this in early 2027 with new information from our 16 ACE’s to include ‘strategic and economic impact’ and ‘community and social value’.
