Technical report: Responsible use of the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for ISP interworking

The BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), is used by telecoms service providers to support the routing of data, it is fundamental to the operation of the internet.
This guidance was developed in collaboration with major UK operators. It is intended to be used by Telecom Operators and ISPs to help them securely specify, design, architect and build their networks.
The guidance encourages operators to use the BGP in a predictable and rigorous way, making full use of Internet Registries such as RIPE. By implementing this guidance, operators will be helping to ensure the UK is supporting the resilience of the global internet.
