NCSC CEO meets with cyber security leaders in India

Lindy Cameron’s visit included discussions with academics, businesses and government representatives in India.

NCSC CEO Lindy Cameron visited India this week for a series of meetings with academics, businesses and government representatives on the shared opportunities and challenges the UK and India face in cyberspace.

Her visit to New Delhi and India’s IT capital Bangalore included discussions with key Indian cyber security partners including National Cyber Security Coordinator, Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Rajesh Pant, the Director General of CERT-IN, Dr Sanjay Bahl, as well as the Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), Shri Alkesh Sharma.

She had the opportunity to hear from leaders at the Karnataka Police Department who shared their thoughts on effective collaboration with law enforcement, while executives from Rolls-Royce gave their experience of businesses operating within India’s cyber security ecosystem.

At the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B) she heard about the institute’s contribution to the field of cyber and led an interactive Q&A discussion with their students.

This marks the first NCSC CEO visit to India since the India-UK cyber statement was published last year, reaffirming the countries’ shared commitment to promoting an open, secure, stable, accessible and peaceful cyberspace.
