Financial sector cyber collaboration centre (FSCCC)
Working alongside the Financial Authorities, industry, NCA and UK Finance, the NCSC has been at the forefront of a ground-breaking initiative to improve the resilience of the UK’s financial sector.
The NCSC has supported the creation of the FSCCC and hosts the new initiative.
The partnership identifies, investigates and coordinates the response to incidents that have potential consequences for the financial sector. To do this it combines, analyses and distributes information gathered from across the sector to produce timely outputs for the benefit of the whole sector.
The FSCCC currently includes around 40 firms but will ultimately extend access across the financial sector with the ambition of supporting other sectors in future. FSCCC activities are coordinated by its Fusion Cell, which NCSC hosts and enables through the i100 scheme, and are currently led by seniors from financial sector organisations.
The Fusion Cell is truly collaborative with partners from financial sector firms and other organisations, such as the Cyber Defence Alliance (CDA) and the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC), analysing threats and corroborating intelligence from a range of sources. The FSCCC continues to develop with the support of firms, the Financial Authorities, the NCSC and wider government to build greater cyber resilience in the UK financial sector.
FSCCC is not part of NCSC and can be an independent voice on cyber threats in the sector. It can publish cyber threat products independently on its own platform. These products represent the views and analysis of FSCCC.
FSCCC and NCSC aspire to work in partnership and where FSCCC and NCSC jointly collaborate on a product it will be published with the logos of both organisations.
