Enhancing usability at Chesterfield Borough Council
How Chesterfield Borough Council changed their password policy to emphasise usability and support their remote workers.
Chesterfield staff, especially remote workers, were overburdened by their logon processes. Updating password policies to reflect the NCSC’s guidance freed users to store passwords within their browsers, have touch ID enabled, and not have their passwords expire. This resulted in users being able to log in faster, reduce the amount of password resets being issued, and a much happier user experience.
