Help the NCSC understand how organisations approach external attack surface risk

We're looking to hear from people involved in evaluating, selecting or adopting EASM.

Earlier this year, we invited organisations with experience of external attack surface management (EASM) and exposure management solutions to take part in our ACD 2.0 research.

Through those conversations, we've gained valuable insights into how organisations use EASM solutions in practice, including how they review findings, prioritise activity, and respond to potential risks.

We're now interested in understanding the earlier stage of that process. We want to learn about the considerations, challenges, and decisions organisations face as they:

  • assess external attack surface risks
  • evaluate potential approaches
  • determine what support, tools or services best meet their needs

Whether you're considering EASM for the first time, evaluating and comparing different approaches, or have recently selected, purchased, or implemented a solution, we're interested in learning from your experiences.

You might be someone who:

  • evaluates cyber security tools, services or technologies
  • contributes to cyber risk management activities
  • influences or makes cyber security investment decisions
  • manages procurement, purchasing or supplier selection activities
  • provides cyber security governance, assurance, or strategic leadership
  • has recently been involved in decisions relating to external attack surface management, exposure management, or related security capabilities

We're particularly keen to hear from people involved in identifying organisational needs, evaluating options, building business cases, influencing investment or procurement decisions, selecting suppliers, or shaping their organisation's approach to external attack surface risk.

Can you help with our research?

Sharing your experiences can help us shape better guidance and services for organisations managing external attack surface risk. Taking part may involve a range of activities, such as:

  • speaking with one of our researchers
  • trying out early ideas or prototypes
  • completing short surveys or small tasks

Rest assured, all information you provide will remain confidential, and participation is entirely voluntary.

How do I register my interest?

If you'd like to help us, please take a moment to complete the following registration form, which will help us understand your role and experience. The form is hosted by Optimal Workshop and should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.

NCSC: Registration of interest for ACD 2.0 research

Please feel free to share this invitation with any colleagues or peers who may be involved in cyber security decision-making, procurement, governance or risk management activities.

What happens next?

Once you've registered your interest, we'll add you to our research panel for future activities. If an opportunity comes up that is a good fit for your experience and our current areas of focus, we'll get in touch via email. Keep an eye on your inbox!

Thank you in advance. We really appreciate your help in shaping the future of ACD 2.0.
