In his blog back in April, Chris Ensor let us know that the first two Knowledge Areas (KAs) from the Cyber Security Body of Knowledge (CyBOK) project had been released for public review and comment.
Since then, the CyBOK team has been working hard to follow up those first Knowledge Areas. We are pleased that the Network Security and Security Operations and Incident Management KAs are now available for review by the cyber security community at large.
The CyBOK web site has all the details of how to provide feedback, and the deadline for feedback is Friday 9th November 2018.
If you haven't been following the development of CyBOK closely, this is a National Cyber Security Programme funded project to develop a comprehensive body of knowledge to inform and underpin education and professional training for the cyber security sector. The work is being led by Professor Awais Rashid of Bristol University with world-leading cyber security experts now developing each of the 19 KAs. The first two completed Knowledge Areas: Cryptography and Software Security can be found on the CyBOK website.
Between now and April 2019, expect a steady stream of KAs to be released for review and comment. Watch out for the Knowledge Areas that interest you the most.
This is your opportunity to help the development of the KAs, and contribute to a unique resource of cyber security knowledge for the international cyber security community and for future cyber security professionals.
