CESG Certification for IA Professionals and Guidance to Certification for IA Professionals documents

Created:  21 Jan 2016
Updated:  12 Apr 2018
The new version of the Certification document (v5.3) removes all references to certification of penetration testers. The previous version of the document (v5.2) and the guidance to certification have been removed from the site. Please contact your certification body if you require a copy of v5.2.
These documents together describe and explain CESG’s certification framework for Information Assurance (IA) professionals. They are relevant to all IA professionals who work in, or for, the public sector and to those who recruit, select, train or manage them

Developed in consultation with SFIA, IISP, HMG, academia, industry, certification bodies and members of CLAS and CREST, this framework is for certifying IA professionals who meet competency and skill requirements for specified IA roles. Certification is to enable better matching between public sector requirements and the IA competencies of staff or contractors. Its primary purpose is to provide employers with an assured pool of certified IA professionals for recruitment.
